	This is one of the tunes introduced in the ballad-operas, The Jovial Orev), and The Q-rul) Street Opera, both printed in 1731. The Jovial Crew of 1731 was an alteration of Richard Brome's comedy of the same name. The words of the song have not been recovered; but there appears little doubt of their having been a political squib upon Colonel Hewson, who was one of Charles the First's judges, and of those who signed his death-warrant. John Hewson was originally a cobbler, and had but one eye. He took up arms
